Remaining balance: $11,814 -- but this is before any new funds from the IRS (which is in continuation mode).
IRS funds would likely cover stasis mode -- site stipends but no growth, but growth is necessary in order to generate new funding.
IRS
grant is
wrapping up year 1 and going into Year 2 out of an
expected 3. Will know in early to mid October about
whether the IRS grant will continue.
Stipends
Karen - our site is small but folks work very hard. even though they do only 80 returns; they serve people year-round in other ways as well.
How was this year's funding allocation determined?
The thinking was to cut stipends in half so that we have some for next year.
Pathways: This year was more challenging than any other year.
No VISTA position for this coming year for DelCo
Hillary: move into maintenance mode and lay low with minimal meetings, joint volunteer recruitment, IRS grant sharing of stipend money.
Lyn: can we hang together minimally just so that when there are opportunities we can apply for some new $$. There are often opportunities out there that seek out coalitions, collaborative projects, etc.
IRS - less and less support.
Goal:
have Semi-regular
meetings at the IRS so Pat can join us
Try to get a FWS student
Revise the job description
Get the final video burned onto a CD
Stipends
- Much discussion over the $1000 vs $2000 payments to sites
- Plan - wait until October and IRS decision to decide whether to pay additional $1000 to the sites. If we agree on a second payment, it will be for "VITA preparation" May-October rather than an additional payment for Jan-April VITA management.

I uploaded all four videos to the DelCoAD folder in the google drive. Most of you have access to this. If you have no idea what I'm talking about or are not sure how to access it, please call me. this is 100 times easier than burning to a DVD...
