I tried to send this earlier and it didn't look like it was working.  I apologize if this is the second time I'm posting....

I called United Healthcare after obtaining the insurance number for the child I was working with.  They were able to look up when my claims were received....my invoices were 4/30/13 and 5/30/13 and the private insurance received them on 6/10/13.  They told me they will send out an EOB (Explanation of Benefits) within 30 business days of when they were received either electronically (they assume it would be this way since they received the invoices this way) or via mail.  She said sometimes a check is sent with the EOB.  I plan on calling again in August to see if the claims have been processed or not.  If this is what is going to happen from now on with our claims, I don't see the EI program surviving in the rural areas unless we start working through agencies like providers do everywhere else in the state.  It may mean getting paid $10-20 less per kid ( to cover the overhead) but at least we would have a regular paycheck, we wouldn't have to deal with this billing nightmare and most importantly, the babies would get services.
