Wow, I really agree with you.  I have felt all along that we will be running this ourselves soon and an interium fiscal agent really didn't mean they were 'filling' in for a permanent one.  This is why I am going to take charge of as much as I can.  It is a pain in the neck calling these ins. companies but when I finally reach someone, they are very helpful. I am seeing my EI thru the end of August and will make a decision whether to continue. I [robably will be owed over 2000 by then thru the insurance companies, not Medicaid.  I am not taking anymore at this time.  If I could only take Medicaid, I would, but that is discrimination and would cause problems. Both of the conpanies I dealt with this week knew nothing about the changes since April.  I asked one gentleman if I could fax over the EI Program Changes Related to Reimbursement of Claims that we recieved and he wasn't interested. I have a child that should have been sent to the Escrow account several weeks ago for Apr and May and nothing has happened.  I will join UNYEIP.  Libby, thanks so much for all your input and knowledge on this.

this is the problem with insurances.... after they get the bill from
McGuiness they have 30-45 days to process regardless if they are processing
an individual's bill or a large agency's bill. So we get stuck waiting.
We need to make sure that we don't get stuck having to contract with
insurances directly and lose the safe guard of the county escrow account.

Please join UNYEIP and follow up with their posts.... we need to make sure
we don't get sucked into a whirlwind of big insurance controlling EI....
even with the public health law covering us now it may change as the state
feels its in their interest to have us contract with each agency.

I find it a little suspicious that McGuiness is still the interim SFA.....
is the state just putting them in place for a while until they can take out
the SFA and we have to contract with each private insurance for $20-30 per
    visit?????

FYI again. I just talked to Excellus Blue Cross and Blue Shield. They are
open Sat! They do not honor letters of subrugation and have not recieved
any of my invoices for Apr, May and I didn't expect June yet. These
invoices were sent to NYEIS 5/12 and 5/30 respectively. He did not sound
like the payment would be coming to me and knew nothing about this.
