Dr. Andallib Tariq is currently Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India. He obtained his BE in mechanical engineering from Bangalore University and obtained M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from IIT Kanpur. His research interests include experimental fluid mechanics, turbulence, heat transfer enhancement, thermal contact conductance, inverse problems, gas turbine blade cooling, nuclear safety research, and optical diagnostic tools like LCT, PIV, and IR thermography. He has established and implemented a critical heat transfer enhancement technology based on Liquid Crystal Thermography (LCT) and was the foremost to initiate the implementation of LCT for gas turbine heat transfer research in India. He has published around 39 papers in various international journals of repute along with 2 chapters.
