Is anyone else bothered by the fact that our superintendent and school
board would even consider spending 4 million or 1.6 million or even 1
dime on a temporary school location that will or will not fit the
future needs of the school 1 year from now? I believe it is totally
irresponsible especially in this economy. Not only will we as county
taxpayers be footing the bill but I am sure our federal dollars will
be spent as well, since the marines have agreed to "help." Why the
rush? Someone asked the question last night and rightfully so. Why
don't the powers that be spend this year planning and implementing the
"Right School at the Right Location at the Right Time" instead of this
temporary fix. Our taxpayer dollars will be wasted retrofitting
Heritage School. Will they change all the fixtures to "big boy" sizes
only to have to spend more money to change them back if they decide
next year to do another temporary project?
