If you recall, in one of the previous high adventure tales of "Bike
Broke", I mentioned that the bike broke with about 1.8 gals of gas and
then ran fine after I filled it up. WELL, on the way home from work
today (southbound I-15, fast lane, 80mph, typical S. Cal rush hour
traffic), the *BIKE BROKE" (just stopped dead). The gas was reading 1.8
gals. Coincidence? Haunted Motorcycle? I'm scared. How about you?

Ride with a wooden cross, garlic and various other items to ward off
evil bike spirits,

Tov

+Tov, [BOO!] in an earlier installation of this scintillating saga8^),
you said

full afterwards - so seems normal)...<

The only thing that's similar to my experiences when my garlic failed;^)
is the fact that adding fuel cured it. In my instances the fuel gauge
was not properly functioning and my *BIKE BROKE by simply running out of
fuel. My fuel gauge also read "full" inaccurately as well.

When you said that it took about 3 gals to top it off, was it accurately
full by eye, or full by gauge readout?

I'm guessing that you need to either have your sender arm adjusted or
your under-tank connector has snapped.

My tales of fuel gauge woe (snapped under-tank connection) are in:

connection).

Ramblin' John's sender arm fix is detailed in

Here's to hoping it's a simple problem requiring a simple solution.

Eyeball. Filled it until gas was over the flapper do-hicky in the
filler neck (love that technical jargon).

I'll mention to the dealer to check both the problems you mentioned.

Your stories were a lot better reading than mine. I'll have to work on
my story telling skills.

Thanks for the inputs,

+I don't have a flapper do-hickey thingy. Is yours a CA model?

Also, due to the prevalence of duel pump oddities that have been
circulated in various discussions, don't discount that as a possibility.

+Keep in mind then that you have another set of variables to consider
because mine's a 49-state model...
