+Anybody here think they are capable of this? Might be an inexpensive
way to give yourself some back support.

Here's sporty's explanation of how he did it:
got a piece S/S 1/8" X 5" x 24"
took it to a metal break bent it to match the bottom of the solo seat
and bent it up in the back, drill 2 holes that match pillon
screew holes took the back rest from sissy bar and screewed to the
upright piece
put a sheet of rubber under the S/S in the one spot it hits the fender
under the seat. now will take it and buff it to a mirror finish
less than a 20$ bill to do it. That is if you have the back rest off a
sissy bar.
