I need an ASPECT reference guide so we can write our own scripts. The Procomm
Plus 5 ASPECT tutorial is pretty vague in it's information. I called Symantec
customer support and did not get anywhere. I could have called their ASPECT
support, but didn't think I should have to use a credit card just to ask about
their User's Guide.

I dont agree. the aspect online tutorial is pretty detailed. Sure, you would
also need to use the index. I have no procomm exposure at all, just start last
week by reading a printed tutorial, it took me less than three days to be able
to write my first script for an application.

Be patient, you will enjoy the tutorial. Good Luck !

I am discouraged by the support of Procomm Plus ("ASPECT"), that being on
"Pay per View" basis. I called the customer service number and they sent me
to the ASPECT support line who in turn electronically requested a credit card
number before I could ask them a question. All I want is the ASPECT user's
guide, of which the customer service rep had no idea how I could get it. I
admit that I am also new to ASPECT coding. I just don't feel that Symantec's
support is user friendly. As you can see in my discussion about $DATE, I
didn't see any real examples of how to truncate variables or how to use
variables in file names in the tutorial. I am enouraged by the ASPECT
discussion group and will contribute as I learn.

Quarterdeck eventually published an ASPECT manual that Symantec still sells,
but it is basically the ASPECT help file printed out.
