Hey Volksnut, seems you're almost ready to go cruisin'! I haven't
weighed mine yet, but I was discussing the Manx's weight with Bruce
Meyers a while back & he said that a regular Manx kit, on a shortened
VW pan with a full tank of gas, weighs 1150 lbs. to 1250 lbs.,
depending on the wheel/tire combo, seats, linkpin frontend or balljoint
frontend, swingaxle or IRS, there's only about a 100 lb. spread.
Rollcage, engine cage/bumper etc. will definately bring that figure up.
The DMV wants the weight without you in it, right? I'd say Patiomatt is
fairly close with his guesstimate, I'd say 1350 lbs. Take it to a local
truckstop that has a scale, they usually charge $5.00 to $10.00 & if
you don't want them to certify it(stamp the weight on a weigh-ticket)
maybe you'll get lucky & they won't charge you.
Good Luck & Have Fun...ManxManiac
