Hi guys, I am trying to figure out what rims and tires I can use for my
buggy. I want that low to the ground, wide fat tire look. My manx will
have an adjustable front beam, and the chassis has been lowered about 2"
from berrien buggy. It will be only for street use...no offroad.
I have been trying very hard to find some Centerline convo wheels (much
like the regular centerlines you see in all the mags..but they have
raised ribs or bumps on the rim it self.) I finnally located some..but I
am not sure of the sizes.

This is what is available from centerline..as they have been
discontinued.

15 x7.5 and 15x4.75 both with 3 3/16 back spacing.

I think that the rear rims will fit okay, with that back spacing, and I
dont think they will stick out past the fenders (which is a major
priority for me, as I dont want to get harrassed anymore than I have to
from the local police) I was looking for 15 x 8's, but they are only 1/2
inch shorter. No big deal.

But I am unsure on the fronts.

I was planing on running 195's on the front,50's or 60's... but I think
that rim maybe too skinny. I really like the raised white lettering
tires from BF Goodrich, but they only make them in 195s and wider. Seems
like no one else makes any white lettered tires smaller than that
either.

On the rear I was going to use 295's 50 series..but I think they may be
too wide. Not real sure yet.

So what i am asking from you guys, what offsets, and tire sizes are you
running on your buggys. I really want those rims, but if they are going
to give me problems with offsets and tire selection, I may just go with
the regular centerlines, that are not so hard to get.

Sorry for the long and confusing post :)
and thanks for your help.

If you're going for "looks" and cruisin'...get what you want. Anything
that fits the way you want is OK..but

If you're looking for performance.....you can "overtire" a vehicle!
Remember those wheels and tires are BIG flywheels...hard to spin up!
And believe me they make a BIG difference with 100hp or less.

Happy hunting

Yeah, I understand that those tires are big and heavy. I am looking for
the best of both worlds...good looks and not to much weight. I want a
somewhat wide tire for the rear, and not so wide up front. I guess I
just really want to know what you guys reccomend. What would you use for
tire sizes if you were me? Have you autocrossed your buggy yet? I would
love to do that!
Thanks for the help

Autocrossed?? ggg haven't even driven it yet..12-14hr days at work.

Try a 195/60/14 bfgoodrich [ discount tire $39 ] up front and a
245/50/15 in the rear....works good with 4.37's and 60hp+.
Close ratio 3rd & 4th really help...go underdrive in 4th if you can,
