CHARLES: DO YOU USE POT?

PRINCE Charles asked a multiple sclerosis sufferer yesterday about
trying cannabis to help her condition.

He put the surprise question to 53-year-old June McLachlan on a visit
to a Glasgow hospice.

June told Charles she went to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice
for complementary therapies including reflexology.

She said later: "He asked me what I take for the MS and I said 'Not
very much.'

"I said 'There is Beta Interferon.

"He asked 'What about cannabis?' and I said 'No, but I would be willing
to try it'.

"It was him that brought it up. He said 'Would you try it?' and I said
I might, but not smoking it. I would be out of my mind. He said stick
to the reflexology."

Wheelchair-bound June, of Eaglesham, near Glasgow, added: "He was very
nice. He is down to earth."

The prince praised complementary therapies, saying "I think I could do
perhaps with some of them myself" as he opened a pounds 1.1million day
care centre at the hospice.

It was named after Charles and Princess Diana to commemorate their
wedding in 1981.

He last visited it five years ago with Diana, a year before their
divorce.
