Hello,
I am a Philadelphia area chess historian writing a book on
Philadelphia chess from the mid 1960's through the late 1970's, the
"Fischer Boom" period. I'm looking for games played by any of the
following Philadelphia area players between 1960 and 1979:
A Alexander, William Atkinson, Boris Baczynskij, Harvey Bradlow, Jim
Cardamone, Arnold Chertkof, Richard Costigan, Tom Costigan,
Karl Dehmelt, Dr. Leroy Dubeck, Lou Golder, Sergei Goregliad, Dan
Heisman, Clarence Kalenian, Jerry Kolker, Walter Koroljow, Robert
Leonard, Richard Lunenfeld
David Moore, Kimball Nedved, Ross Nickel, Richard Pariseau, Michael
Pastor, Ken Potts, Bruce Rind, Joe Schwing, Mike Shahade, Robert
Szendroi, Tim Taylor, Joe Weber.
All of these players played in the philadelphia Invitational
Championships, held from 1969-1977. Some of these players I have spoken
to, and they have provided me with games and other information. But I'm
sure readers of this forum have much to share with me.
Also,I am looking for the games from the 1969, 1973, and 1977
Philadelphia Invitational Championships. 1969 was won by Dubeck, 1973
by Heisman, and 1977 by Tim Taylor.
If you are able to provide gamescores or other information, please
contact me.
Thanks,
Neil Brennen

Have you checked in the University of Pittsburg PGN archives?

ftp://ftp.pitt.edu/group/chess/PGN

There are games sorted by date, and if you sift through these you are
liable to find some of what you are looking for.

Dear 1kholder,
I had checked the Pittsburgh site and come back empty handed. It's
because of this lack of documentation that I am working on this project.
