Hi, all. My problem is this: I'd like to find the games of this
contest. As it happens, ChessLab actually has a reference to two games
Leonardo-Lopez 1595, BUT they both end after ten moves. It's just the
opening, that's all. But, I know that these games must be preserved
somewhere, because Eales writes in _Chess: The History of a Game_
(concerning Polerio's manuscripts of c.1580) "Besides a partial
translation of Lopez, they contain Polerio's own analyses, and those he
had obtained from the collections of contemporaries, as well as a few
possibly genuine recorded games, notably those played between the
Italian and Spanish champions at Madrid in 1575."

So. They exist. But where. The Oxford Encyclopedia of Chess Games
might have something in it, but I've never had the good fortune to get
my hands on a copy. Anybody have any ideas, or help?

Other than that.. is my only recourse to go all the way to Cleveland?
Hmm.. come to think of it, does anyone on this group live in Cleveland?
(lucky guy, if ya do)
