I just watched Murphy's Romance, and it mentions Carole as a cast
member as well as writing the score. I think it says she
played "Tina". It's hard to tell because The Encore Movie Network does
that annoying half screen during the credits that the networks do when
they show a movie. Encore only does it for a few seconds, but it seems
it is always during the main cast. Anyway, I've rewound and can't find
Carole in the movie anywhere. Anybody know where in the movie I can
find her? Anyone At All?

Been ages, Snap, since I've seen Murphy, but there's a point in the film
when Sally Field goes into a government office to get a business permit
(I think), and the woman she deals with is Carole King. I think King's
character is actually named is actually Tillie, not Tina. Carole's big
line is: "And NO smoking," said, I think, as Field takes the necessary
papers to fill them out. Who else remembers? I barely remember how to
spell MAKING and to place that comma before AMIGO, for god's sake!

Not editing!

Hello Mary,

Your memory is better than you think. You're right on the mark.

Hi---

I remember during the making of "Murphy's Romance" that a couple of
newspapers had a few blurbs about how Carole had an acting role in the film
as a government employee, and I remember Carole being quoted as saying that
(in her first acting gig) how she acted JUST like a government employee.
Perhaps with all her turmoil with the government in the early 80s that's how
she was indeed treated. I have to tell ya, however, that as a former
government employee of a few years, I never had the pleasure of encountering
my diva. I did, however, encounter a Roberta Slack--that's as close as it got.

I missed CK's great screen moment the first time I saw "Murphy's" in
theatre.

Question--A search on one of the web's search engine says that Carole
King appeared in 1982's "Making Love." Does anyone know if this is
true? I've seen it several times; just don't every remember seeing CK
on screen or listed in the credit.

Anyone? Anyone at All?
