Hope you got to hear the NPR story yesterday about Tapestry. Elizabeth
Blair reported on Carole's career up to Tapestry and spoke with Lou
Adler, Toni Stern, and Carole. Carole talked a bit about the creative
process. Toni Stern described going over to Carole's house to write
and she was tending to her babies--"slapping olive oil on a baby's
bottom with one hand and writing songs with the other" (reminiscent of
that line from Goodbye don't mean I'm gone...My baby's in one hand I've
a pen in the other...). It was a very nice blurb, and ended with the
comment that these songs were no longer just pop ephemera but had
become a part of our culture, and who we are. There is a
