Wow.
I've had calls for it from some of my older black listeners but didn't have a
*clue* about the quality of this guy !
I had heard some off-label and live stuff that didn't really do a lot for me,
but after hearing this one, he belongs right up there with the best of the
60's Chicago blues greats.
Anybody got any insight on what else of his I should have ????

Marty, I would recommend finding a Video copy of the 10th Annual San
Francisco Blues Festival. At one time is was for sale, years ago. Johnny
Littlejohn was really Great ! That year the Festival had--Clifton Chenier,
Gatemouth Brown, Albert Collins, Johnny Littlejohn, The Ford Brothers Blues
Band, John Hammond, and many others. That was the first time I realized how
Good---Johnny Littlejohn really was.
Besides the CD that you have--another one that I think is really good is the
JSP release by Johnny called--When Your Best Friend Turns Their Back On
You--JSP CD 246
Very under-appreciated Chicago styled Bluesman. Once you see Johnny on the
short interview that goes along with his performance ---on the 10th Annual SF
Blues Festival Video--you know right off----He was the Real Thing. I've
always played alot of Johnny on my shows over the years.
