Hi All-

Is anyone successfully using SQL for remote databases with SLX 3.16?
We are increasing in need of a solution for some of our users. We know
that the Web client may be the answer for some - but it has it's own
constraints that will make it too difficult for alot of our remote
users.

We also have enough customization that we are not ready to go to SLX
2000 yet. I was sure that I heard some one speaking about using SQL
with V3.16 last year at the User Forum in NY.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I was told by Saleslogix that they would not support SQL for remotes.
Though we have a inside contact at SLX (Owners son) that said he has
been using SQL and has had no problems. I am going to test this in the
next week or so.

I think I have some piece of garbage borland tool for that.
I'm looking for it.
I'll let you know if I find it.

Have you checked the MS website for an import tool?

It would be in Microsoft's interest to provide such a thing so you may
find something there.

Actually, now that I am thinking of it, there is a utility that ships
with SalesLogix called FullCopy.

It will be in the Utilities folder on your SalesLogix CD.

You will need an ODBC DSN or a datasource in the BDE for the input
database (Interbase) and the output database (MS SQL).

Run the utility and it will give you choices of which tables to copy.

As long as your database is not too big this will work.

It has some memory leaks.

If it does not work, let me know and I may have another tool for you.

Awesome. I will check microsoft's site. Curious though. DO I need to
create a blank SQL database using Saleslogix SQL db creator?
