Sorry about the missing news

I should have posted this before I went to London last week, but I'm
sorry about the four days of missing news from the English service
homepage. I hope the replacement page was better than nothing!

To a certain extent, this was practice for this Summer, when I'll be
away for something like six weeks.We're planning on having a Question of
the Summer where you vote for your favorite Scandinavian of the last
millennium, from Leif Ericsson to Björk, William the Conquerer to Olof
Palme. (Feel free to send in nominees, we can have up to 20 names.)

Any suggestions about making the Summer page better, in the absence of
news updating, will be much appreciated.

While in London, I visited BBC News Online, the department
responsible for the news on the web, and was very impressed by their
resources. I wish we could do something like that, but compared to their
staff of 180, we have one-fourth of me responsible for keeping out
website running.

Suggestions for improvements, as well as corrections for mistakes and
out-of-date material, are always welcome. As are suggestions for future
Questions of the Week.
