Hey Brothers and Sisters!

IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING, WE PACKED THE MAIN COUNCIL CHAMBER AT CITY
HALL!

A BIG UNION THANK YOU TO ALL OF THOSE WHO SHOWED UP!

WE SURPRISED THE CITY COUNCIL AND ESPECIALLY THE JPC. ABOUT 10 PEOPLE
REPRESENTING ADVERTISING AND THE INDUSTRY HAD TO FACE OVER 200 PASSIONATE
AND ELOQUENT ACTORS.. IT WAS A GOOD DAY!

SO HERE IS THE OUTCOME

As we speak the resolution is being amended for the third time. It is
being adjusted in our favor to better suit our needs. While this is going
on; the issue involving the granting of permits was a major concern to the
City Council. They were upset by some of the testimonies. There were many
complaints from us and from the public about how "commercials" were being
shot in public neighborhoods without any notification. People did not
appreciate this type of disruption. The abuse, the false applications, and
the gameplaying in the Office of Film & Television alarmed the Committee
and they agreed to deal with it IMMEDIATELY! The issue will be presented
to the Department of Cultural Affairs as well as the rest of the City
Council.

As we stated the resolution is being changed to accommodate our issues. The
decision of the resolution is still pending.
OUR message was clear and received. The overwhelming feeling of the day was
one of support. There is no time line but for this to happen right before
negotiations is a very positive thing. We looked very strong and committed
today. If you weren't there, believe me, you would have been proud.

As you know next week we head back to the table! We are all very anxious
for this to end. We will have some events next week. Stick around because
we are going to need you. This is our future and we need to protect it
with every ounce of strength and intelligence we have. We demonstrated our
ability to do that today! Feel good, we are being heard!

Stay tuned next week.

Fighting in Solidarity,

Fighting until Victory!
