Just me 2 cents, how about using a gas tube to reduce the voltage
supply for the G2.

Another mine 2 dollars, how about you use 5R4GY inplace of the EZ150,
and sell me one pair of EL156 socket.

BTW, I also have 2 pieces of EL156. Since I like tube rolling, so I
would like to use a #76 single stage and a 1:1 interstage transformer
coupling. In such way I have the fun to roll with the various #76 base
on the EL156. You have no substitude for EL156 rolling, right? I will
make monobloc, one pc of 5R4GY is perfect in terms of voltage and
current capability when compare with EZ150.

That could be done I guess, but I have no experience of gas tube. Would
a gas tube make a big difference in screen grid supply ?

5R4GYs can of course do the same job, but the looking of EZ150 is well
matching with the EL156s.

Oh yes, EL156 is TFK only, and not much choice of E80CC. But good, it
would be great fun to have 2 EL156 amps, mono block version 76, EL156,
5R4 and stereo version E80CC, EL156, EZ150.

Regards,
Alex

Are you sure one single 5R4GY can support 2 x EL156? I intend to build
a stereo SE amp and want to use a single rectifier only.

There is a queue already but I would like to save up for a EL156 PP
project in future.

If you go for stereo, the 5R4 is not enough, GZ37 is OK but I know
you're not interested in GZ37.

For the socket, never mind, I'm not so serious....since I still have
the pending 300B project after the tannoy wood horn. My biggest problem
is time.

Hv fun!
