It is each around 150 LB once the 12" Tannoy Silver mounted, (38X20X26"
H,D,W) giants pair already moved from the factory (one bedroom) to my
Living room.

Exterior,
Each surface is veneer with birth-ply at the center and four sides
surrounded by teak ply of 3" width. The birch is dyed with lighter
colour to let you see the curry birch more visible. The teak suround is
dyed with deeper colour to give out a framing protection image.
Further, the eye-birch and the teak are seperated by a 6mm art pattern
wooden ribbon. Both Top and bottom edges are surrounded with graphic
lines of solid wood panels. the whole box is supported by a 2" high
base foot under the bottom graphic edge. The whole finishing is is
acrlic half glossy.

Interior,
It is made of 19mm MDF, the square front load horn 13" length,
throat/mouth ratio 1:4 (caused me a lot of time and trouble) is convax
at upper and lower pane and straight at left and right panels, exactly
a deeper westminster's mouth.
For the back load, it is a 3-fold 1.8 meter 1:2 throat/mouth ratio.
Mouth is locate below the front horn, like A-5. Finally the upper mouth
and lower mouth are facing you the listener. All internal area are
plained and absorbed with tar-oil to protect the MDF from humidity, and
also, lower the resonance.

The original cross over will be placed outside in order for me to
change to electronic crossover later, with 45 and 6A3 tubes.

I will start with no wave foam inside as damping material because of
the tar-oil and as long as it is a horn. But I will add some later if I
found booming and resonance occur.

Overall it is half fun and half trouble, but men, why you belove in HI-
FI!

I appreciate any comment for improvement.

Diytfy!

For me, I just want to see a pic asap and an invitation to an audition
party after it is completed.

Great work. BTW, was it an original design by you or based on an
existing model.

You are welcome. It's always more fun to have audition together.
BTW, It's hard to say this is my design, anyway it is a combine
inspiration from Westminster and A5 but smaller to fit my room, (But my
wife doesn't agree that is FIT in terms of size). Compare with
Westminster, it's without the very long backload passage producing
colouration. Compare with A5, mine is co-axial and better finishing.
hehe!

Congratulation, as Tim described I am very eager if you can send us a
photo to have a look. After this project, I guess it is time for my SE
KT66 amplifier? Ha Ha just joking, please take your time.

Hello Vincent,

Yesterday I mounted the silver on the box, now just leave behind the
backboard and front cover. Tomorrow I have a saturday morning free to
complete it. If you don't mind the pre-tuned performance, you're
welcome to drop in my home to listen to it, and my little 2-way monitor
as well.

Your SE KT66 is becoming an incomplete vintage, but I must finish it in
one day. I regret about it.

A lucky people to own this York, all these classic vintage are really
under value, when compare with the more modern models which can handle
more power but the sound is totally different.
