Hi All,Have any of you experience with putting a piece of vintage
equipment in a modern chain and being surprised how good the vintage
piece is and that it can hold its own with modern/defined equipment?
I connected my Fisher 400-CX-2 preamp to a ss DPA 50S amp driving CLS
IIAs.The speakers are ruthlessly revealing,and the same goes for the
amp.Surprise,surprise!The Fisher fits in really well.My Mac C-20
couldn't fit in at all.Raanan

Tube pre-amp push SS power amp always has good result, no matter
vintage or not, usually great in texture and details. Especially true
for those FET amp and those pure class A ones. e.g. M7 + Bedini + DM17,
unforgotable.
