With my few years in audio, the first really good thing in audio world
that I found is TUBE. Now the second is Vinyl ...

& when Tubes meet Vinyl , oh! too beautiful ...

I agree without a doubt what you said is true.

BTW, can you share with us what gears you are using now (from source to
speaker) and what tubes are installed?

The next step for ultimate delicacy is a pair of electrostatic speakers.
Too bad the humidity in HK is so high.

Indeed, I only added the front end, others still the same.

Nottingham SpaceDeck + SpaceArm + ShureV15MR
EAR 834P phono amp that use three 12AX7, now I only use stock tube that
should be EI.
AudioNote M2 preamp also use stock tube, one Phlips USA 6sn7 .
PowerAmp? the same (ha! ha!)
SonusFaber EA(1)

I have not try more expensive tube yet when the TT arrived cos I like to
use stotck tubes as reference to tune sound.
The EAR is excellent even with stock tube!

TKL,

Do you try a MC cartridge? 10 years ago, I changed from Shure V15typeV
to Denon DL103 and no more MM head thereafter. That time I diyed an MC
head amp based on the circuit of English QED but the cost was $30
supplied with 2 AA-cells, excellant in terms of simple and best.

But I know that the best bet is to go with MC step-up transformer,
which I recently source 3 pieces Micro-trans 10C-40kC wich is perfect
for me to restore my Thorens TD126 + SAEC 308N + DL103 PCOCC. I will
start this project after mounting my tannoy silver F/B horn, this long
project is almost completed and bring me back to 1960.

Diytfy!

Fully agreed with TKL. To excite you , I got my EAR 843P MC/MM phono
from UK. I could wait to hook up my Orbe SE/SME V/Koetsu to it, then to
Jadis DPL, AN Kit 1 to ML Quest-Z panel section, Aragon 4004 MK II to
woofer. Pitch a few string LPs & drop in. Woow, after a few hours, you
can feel violin in front of you and the sound stage seems more defined.
I read it has a high gain with 3 ECC83, output max at 30V??NO wonder I
need to turn down the volume. The seductive blue light from the NOS
WE300B is dancing with music. I enjoy the music till early morning. Too
bad I need to work again.
