I am not sure if any tube will make the ARC LS7 sound like a LS8. They
are of slightly different design.

To my ears, the LS7 actually sound BETTER than LS8 even when stock
tubes are used on both. But others, e.g. Felix, may not agree. It is a
question of taste.

For the LS7, the best tube is without doubt earliest Siemens CCa. But
in my own experience as an ex-LS7 user, this pre-amp does not response
too "dramatically" to tube change, as compare to ARC tube power amp or
tube pre-amp from other brand, which may indeed "transform" the amp to
an much advanced level.

I will definitely put money to upgrade the tubes on the power amp
instead to get better result.

Put ordinary tubes on the LS7 and shit tubes on LS8.
