Yes, folks CAN RANT HERE. In fact, the only rants I'll have a problem
with are mindless flames for character assassination purposes... and
depending on the character, I might even allow those. (The mayor of NYC,
LA Police Chief and Al Sharpton are fair game).
And as a starting rant, I'll start with the very non-furry Al Sharpton,
mostly because of what just happened in the news. The reverend
Sharpton, who I'm sure thinks he can walk on water now, had lead a
protest against Racial Profiling in NJ by blocking the only road into
Atlantic City, causing major headaches and traffic snarls for 7 hours.
For this, he was sentenced to 10 days in jail. Wednesday, when he was
supposed to begin his punishment, the judge had a sudden change of heart
and revoked the jail time. This being is pissing off both blacks and
whites by his thoughtless actions, his attitude that the ends justify
the means and that anything to bring attention to the 'plight of blacks'
is good. This is the same bigot (yes, I will call him that) who drummed
up the infamous incident in NYC where a black girl claimed she was raped
by a pack of white cops -- an incident that caused riots, ruined the
lives of many people, and ultimately was revealed to be a hoax and
Sharpton was found to have *known* it was a hoax but bullied the girl
into maintaining her story. I hope they someday find Sharpton in bed
with a 13-year-old black boy and get the mob who think him their saint
to suddenly wake up to the fact that he's nothing but a rabble-rouser
and in it only for himself. If he was white, he'd be a KKK wizard.

Hmm...then I can rant about Assinio getting a table in Artist's Alley
at Confurence. Why is it that cons don't ban individuals who
deliberately misbehave at other cons? I know he is banned from AC, but
I have a sneaking suspicion he will appear anyway. After all, the hotel
won't ban him from the premises unless he has done something to break
their rules. He could sit in what will pass for a lobby and annoy fans
going to and fro to the con. I doubt he would try to sell his stuff in
the lobby, as that is specifically forbidden by the rules, but I would
put nothing past him. I am glad I am only going for two days at CF...
