AJ sat in the restaurant, in the back corner, to hide his presence to anyone
who may enter. He looked around the place, where he had eaten before, but
something was different. He couldn't place his finger on it.

"More coffee, sir?" The waitress asked, smiling down at him.

He nodded, as she freshened his cup. He looked out the window at the town, it
too, seemed different, like something was a stir.

He finished his coffee, and walked out to the street, "This is not right." He
talked to himself, at a whisper, as he climbed back onto his horse, heading
back towards the farm, he'd came to know as home.

On the edge of town, he heard a disturbance behind him, he stopped in front
of the livery, and turned back, to see four strangers had taken hold of the
street. He looked them over, and only recognized one, but knew they all were
there, as he turned again, and at full trot, headed home.

"Howie!" He said, as he entered the house, and ran up the stairs, "Howie?"
He'd found the room was empty.

His eyes shot to the window, where they began to warm, and moisten, as he see
his brother, outside, standing next to the fence, by the barn. He gathered
himself, and went out to join them.

"Howie?" He said, as he approached him.

Howie turned, "AJ." He smiled, and took his brother in his arms, for a joyous
hug. "I'm okay, AJ. I can walk."

AJ pulled back from his brother, so he could see his face, "Yeah, I knew you
could do it."

"I couldn't have done it, if it wasn't for Charity," Howie smiled at her,
"She helped me do it."

Charity humbly smiled back at him, "It was all you, Howie."

"This is great news!" AJ said, not wanting to spoil this good day with what
he saw in town, "We should celebrate!"

"Yes," Howie agreed, "We should get drunk and mean!"

"How about I fix us all a big dinner?" Charity suggested.

"That sounds great, Charity," AJ said, "I'm going to go let my horse graze."
He went to put his horse in the field.

"I appreciate everything you did for me, Charity," Howie sat beside her on
the bench, "You're a wonderful and amazing woman."

"Thank you, Howie." She smiled so sweetly.

"You know," Howie began, "I'm not proud of the things I'd done to get here,
but I'm glad I did, as I wouldn't have met you."

She giggled.

"What is t?" Howie asked.

"Why are you so serious, all of the sudden?" She pat his arm, with the bill
of her sunhat, "Don't get all serious on me now!"

He laughed, once again, hiding his true feelings for her, eventhough, he
wanted to scream it out to the world.

Once Angie had returned from her office, she seemed a little nervous, as they
eat the dinner Charity had prepared. As they were cleaning up the dishes, the
two sisters had a private talk.

"Are you okay?" Charity asked, "Are you upset?"

"Yes," She replied, "They came back again today, to take their share of my
collections."

"That is so wrong," Charity said, "Have you told the sheriff about this?"

"The sheriff is out of town," She explained, "He's in Colorado Springs for a
trial."

"Well," Charity said, drying her hands, on the tail of her apron, "We have to
do something. Maybe we should tell the men?"

"No," She refused, "I don't want AJ to know that I am weak."

Meanwhile, outside, Howie and AJ are talking about what was seen in town that
day.

"I can't believe that," Howie is in disbelief, "So, do you think they are the
bounty hunter , who is putting up the reward for our capture?"

"I think so," AJ replied, "At least, I think it's Nicky. He hates me. He told
me he wanted me dead."

"We have to find out what they want, you know." Howie worried about his
brother, and wanted to protect him from any harm. "I say we go into town, and
kill them."

"It's not gonna be that easy," AJ said, "They're all sharp shooters."

"So?"

"So?" He looked down at his brother, who is sitting on a stump, "They'll kill
us, and we'll be dead, no coming outta that one."

"And we'll die heroes, for trying to kill a gang of outlaws," Howie punned,
"I couldn't think of a better death. I've always thought I'd have a coward's
death. This way, it won't be."

"You, a coward?" He laughed, "No way. Never."

"Yeah," Howie exhaled, teasing, "I know, it's hard to believe, seeing that
I'm not scared of anything."

They laughed the moment away, but AJ knew something was going on in town, and
if they didn't find out what it was, it may be the end for them all. --
