Explore the toolkit that helps you solve more interesting problems. The collection includes top design software plus additional tools for analysis and simulation, visualization, reality capture, detailing, and automation.
With Autodesk, you can use a modern design, engineering, and manufacturing toolkit with access that is flexible enough to meet your needs. Choose from multi-year subscription, year-to-year, or month-to-month options. Or get daily access to over 100 Autodesk products with Flex.
In addition (unless you already have a license of Inventor standard or a suite product that has it).. Autodesk no longer has an Inventor Standard product. Collections has Inventor Pro. In addition the new Product Design and Manufacturing Collection (which replaced Product Design Collection) now has Inventor HSM (CNC machine) as well.
I said it does look like the Collection has Inventor Pro. We signed a three-year contract with a re-seller for Product Design Premium so I guess we'll have to wait another year before we can move to the Collection.
I was browsing the autodesk inventor blog and saw that autodesk has retired the 2017 Product Design Suite Ultimate that I currently use. It said that only Product Design COLLECTION suites would be available going forward! Will the current perpetual license users of the 2017 PDSU on a maintenance contract be upgraded to a Collection? Or is the only option going forward be to trade our perpetual license in for a subscription?
Thanks,
Chris Hutchinson

However if you still have a active maintenance plan of your perpetual suite license or a term based (single user or mult-user) you will continue to have access to the suite in the future. But there's no indication if Autodesk will provide a single download to the suite or you will have to download/install the applications like you do with the Industrial Collections.
But if you do have a perpetual license on an active maintenance plan and you decided to turn in and switch to term (due to Autodesk changing the cost of a perpetual license on maintenance plan) than you lose the use of the the suite.
Product Design Suite will be available for existing Maintenance contract holders to PrDS as long as the contract is valid. PrDS 2018 is being worked on and will be available soon. You can renew the Maintenance contract or convert to Subscription.
Hello from Autodesk!
We would like to inform you that the 2018 version of the product Product Design Suite Ultimate has not been made live yet. Also we have not received any updates regarding the release of the same.
In case you want to download the 2018 version of the product we request you to download the individual products from the Education Community Site that are included in the Suite.
Hope this helps!
Thank you.
But Autodesk has made changes in who gets suites and it looks like the educational community no longer has access to the suite in 2018. So you will have to go and request each application you need and get a license code generated for each application.
Hi! If I understood it correctly, I don't think there is change in composition of the products in PrDS 2018. The Inventor included in PrDS should be Inventor Professional and Inventor standard version isn't available any more.
The Dante AV Product Design Suite is a complete turnkey recipe allowing OEMs to build a high-quality AV over IP endpoint for visually lossless results with low latency over a 1Gbps network. It provides complete interoperability for audio distribution and control with the more than 2,500 existing Dante products from more than 450 different manufacturers, delivering independent, fully synchronized audio and video streams. Based around the Dante AV module, the Dante AV PDS may be modified, branded and differentiated by OEMs via software, control, and integration with other members of their product lines.
The Dante AV PDS is designed to be a feature-complete AV-over-IP solution for the Professional AV market, implementing a codec, local HDMI and HDCP, ancillary data channels, and control. The on-board Dante AV Module provides Dante clock synchronization, control, discovery, transport, messaging, management, updates and more. A comprehensive set of hardware documents, design files, and a complete software SDK allows OEMs to create complete, fully interoperable Dante AV products quickly and reliably with end-to-end HDCP support.
The Dante AV PDS includes a complete implementation of the intoPIX JPEG2000 codec supporting UHD and Cinematic 4K resolution, up to 60fps, up to 4:4:4 chroma subsampling, up to 10bit color depth, up and down scaling, and ultra-low latency dual block encoding and decoding.
The Dante AV PDS implements a software control stack which is accessed through the Dante API and Dante Controller. In addition to codec control, this software supports the routing of ancillary data channels for control over Dante, including USB HID, Infrared, Serial (RS422), and Consumer Electronic Control for HDMI devices. All of these signals are transported over Dante and appear as routable channels, just like audio and video.
The Dante AV PDS comes with basic metal enclosure design, packaging design, preliminary EMI and thermal product scans, manufacturing instructions, and test fixture design guidance. Each Dante AV PDS contains 2 pre-configured Dante AV Endpoint Design Boards and 5 Dante AV modules in order to validate end-to-end performance.
Interested manufacturers can get more information on Dante AV and the Dante AV Product Design Suite by visiting the Dante AV webpage at www.audinate.com/dante-av. If you are attending ISE, please visit Audinate at booth Hall 7, Stand C193.

Autodesk Inventor 2016 includes a new technology called AnyCAD that allows users to selectively and associatively work with dozens of non-native CAD data types from all major vendors for more efficient multi-CAD workflows, both internally and with suppliers. For example, an engineer can import a mechanical component from another CAD system into a larger assembly in Inventor, where it can be analyzed for fit and performance. The file is not "translated" into Inventor. The imported component can be modified in its original CAD system and updates are automatically reflected in Inventor.
Inventor 2016 will also include new 3D printing capabilities that simplify the preparation of digital models for fabrication on any 3D printer. Users can orient and modify models to fit pre-defined printer volumes, all without affecting the original source model and before sending an STL file directly to a 3D printer. This built-in capability will dramatically speed up and simplify rapid prototyping or full scale production via additive manufacturing.
Product Design Suite 2016 is built to deliver a comprehensive set of design, simulation, collaboration and visualization tools providing a comprehensive and connected design experience that helps users design better products and reduce development costs.
Autodesk Factory Design Suite 2016 provides factory customers with access to interoperable, layout-specific workflows, cloud-based factory asset resources and powerful visualization and analysis tools that help increase design accuracy, efficiency and communication.
Autodesk Inventor HSM continues to lead the industry in CAD integration with the single goal of driving product design. Inventor HSM offers users a truly transparent workflow that provides 2- to 5-axis milling and turning strategies seamlessly inside the CAD system of choice, which helps to achieve higher productivity, increased profits, and shorter time-to-market.
Autodesk Inventor HSM 2016 adds turning capabilities to the Autodesk Inventor-integrated CAM offering. Customers looking for a CAM system to help them improve productivity with traditional turning or to take full advantage of advanced mill/turn CNC machining centers now have access to the full range of CAM functionality available inside Autodesk Inventor.
