New laptop purchased to use with Serato pro DJ software but it's not fit for purpose in its current state. I have no other hardware connected or software running. Omen has quick web browsing, is fast to boot and loads Serato quickly and is fast at analysing files within Serato. But there's a lot of lag when pressing play on a track making it impossible to live drop a track on top of another - the lag results in the 2 tracks being way out of synch. Serious lagging is also noticeable when cross fading. One other less serious issue is that when I plug in my headphones I have to restart the software due to becoming unresponsive and with the track displays whizzing around at a crazy fast BPM.

I presumed this was a more than capable machine which would easily cope with Serato. My 10-year-old iMac has no discernible lag whatsoever using the same software. I've done the obvious optimisation settings in Serato, reducing resolution, altering the buffering settings etc and wondered if the graphics card has anything to do with it. I've optimised windows where I can but still no joy. Windows and drivers are up to date. Any help would be much appreciated.
