Iam hoping to use eSims from third parties (other than Peplink). Many eSims now use QR code only and not the SIM # to load into hotspots etc.
The Pelink Max BR1 Pro 5G is supposed to be able to scan in the QR code via the webcam connection when you are in the admin software.
Has anyone done this yet? My router will be in an less accessible spot so I will be using eSims which are provided via QR code download.
Thank you. I was hoping to use the Scan function and my webcam to enter it directly. There is a Scan button under the being your own sim entry field. Using my iPad, phone or laptop. Was the scanner you used a software interpreter for the qr code using a phone camera or a hardware plug in usb device?
Your iPad, iPhone, and laptop camera should work as long as you grant the camera access. My case is on Chrome. Then just scan the QR Code and InControl will push the code to the device automatically.

While using a QR code is the most common and straightforward method for eSIM activation / installation, there can be times when you don't have access to a digital screen or a print-out to display and scan a QR code. For example, you might find yourself needing to install an eSIM with only a single device at hand. That's where manual installation comes in.

After the eSIM is activated, you can label it to identify easily. The default label could be "Business", "Travel", or "Cellular Data" but you can name it whatever you want by tapping "Cellular Plan Label" and enter the name in CUSTOM LABEL field.

Now I got a SIM and activated it and transferred my old number to it. Now trying to get eSIM, but my current number seems not transferable. It is not accepting. When I choose a new number, it asks me to buy another plan. I dont want to pay again since I want to use just the eSIM. The website is asking all my information over again. Cant even use the same email address. I was on the phone for hours and I got a lot of contradictory answers. The guy said the website under maintenance and try in a few hours. Its been a day still the same. He said no need to buy another plan etc. Website directions are not as he says. Can someone clarify this? I offered him to write down my IMEI and EID and do for me, but he refused all the time.
