Goto the ADC web site home page and click on "Login Here" to register for the game. If you are a student, your parent will need to complete the form and provide parental permission for you to play. The good news is the updated enrollment process, including the automated parental verification, should only take a few minutes to complete.
No, but we highly encourage you to use a local airport so you can research it and ensure your airport is being built to FAA specifications. You can also reach out to your local airport manager and request a tour of the airport so you can see how the buildings and runways look in real life.
After reviewing several similar competitions, we were impressed by the ability of younger children to create very complex structures and designs within Minecraft. We recognize that skill levels will vary from one grade to another, but the same could be said of varying students within a single grade. Some tasks and references may require adult assistance in order to ensure understanding, but the root of the challenge is in the creativity of each student to design and develop their airport to the best of their individual abilities.
Yes you can! Your entry will be judged equally regardless of where you are based. Just like with US students, we recommend you pick a local airport near you so that you can have an opportunity to see the airport in person and work with the airport manager on how best to build your airport in Minecraft. Please be aware that our judges will do their best to evaluate your airport based on what is listed on Google Maps and other internet sources. However, answers to quiz questions and project assignments will be based on FAA rules and regulations. Also, the final video assignment must be narrated or subtitled in English.
Instructional videos, websites, and other resources will be provided to assist you throughout the entire challenge. You may also email our team at
avsed.c...@faa.gov. For questions or concerns regarding software or hardware issues, please contact the administrator of the specific item.
So I'm trying to make a Minecraft server for me and my friends, all of the server software is set up, I port forward on the windows machine, and while trying to port forward on the Airport utility I can't enter in the same ip as the windows machine. The airport utility ip.
This should open both TCP & UDP IP traffic, destined for port 25565, through the Extreme's NAT "firewall" to your server. You will have to so something similar with the the Windows Defender firewall to get that traffic to the host application OR disable this firewall just to verify that the Extreme port mapping works properly to being with.
Thanks for the additional details. This really helps. In this configuration your 802.11ac AirPort Extreme base station it your "main" Internet router. As such, you basically have two options for hosting the Minecraft server:
The former is more "secure," but requires the correct ports to be configured. It also does not require that the server employ a software firewall. The latter is less "secure," but does not require any port forwarding configurations as all ports to the server will be open to the Internet. This latter case would also require that you use a software firewall on the server.
If you want to go the port forwarding route, then you need to configure port forwarding on both the Extreme AND on the server. This complicates setup a bit, but should be doable. We can help you with how to configure port forwarding on your Extreme, but you will be "on your own" for both which ports will be required and configuring port forwarding on the server.
So I already have port forwarded the windows computer and the AirPort Extreme on port 25565 but my question is while making a reservation for the ip that the windows computer uses I can not. That picture is of the ip listed on the AirPort Extreme and this is what happens when I try to make a reservation for the ip,you cannot change the first digits so I am confused
I ran ipconfig/all in cmd and the ipv4 address is the 10.0.1.x and says preferred but it has 2 digits at the end so 10.0.1.xx but my public ip is the 47.x.x.x one. So once you see this just say what you think I need to do since I have no idea anymore lol. (also I have no vpn)
What is the make & model of the modem or gateway that your AirPort base station is directly connected to by Ethernet? How is the Ethernet switch, you mention, connected in this network? Also, which exact version is the base station?
Ok so the modem is made by cisco and the model number is DPC3008. The airport base station model is (AirPort Extreme 802. 11ac) So I think (as the person who set up everything is no longer living) It goes from the modem which is connected to the wall with a coaxial cable, then it goes to the airport router, then goes down the the basement where my server rack is and goes into the network d-link network switch, and then it goes out to the wall ethernet jacks in different rooms of the house and finally to my pc or other devices. So tell me if you need anymore information. Thanks a lot
Minecraft City Airport (MCX) is the biggest airport in the entire map, It is based on Shinaya Airport in Los Angeles, flights can come in using elytras. It had for years been known as the largest Minecraft airport, however, the Crayde International Airport (CRD), which has been in the process of building since Ramadan 2022, and has beat MCX's record in size, airport facilities and in-flight facilities.
Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport is expected to open by 2026; Landvetter Airport is already up and running, with the surrounding 650 hectares of land to be developed to support it.
Keen to find innovative ways to involve the community, both councils are holding Minecraft competitions in schools, giving students the chance to build sustainable communities around their local airports. They will share their learning from the competitions with each other.
Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller it is exciting for both councils to have the chance to plan the areas around their airports from the ground up, and Minecraft is a great way for children to get involved in the project.
The two councils will also share results of research and investigations into ways to integrate their airports with the natural environment in order to create a low-carbon facility and high-quality public transport links.
All the concepts were so different. One group created an airport where everything was underground, apart from the actual landing strip. It would be difficult to create that but I thought the idea was fantastic.
Western Sydney Airport, the group created to build and run Western Sydney International, was heavily involved in the competition, with its CEO Graham Millett on the judging panel. Mayor Waller hopes they may learn a thing or two from the children.
Pankow International Airport Map (1.21.1, 1.20.1) is a creation map designed by crafthase. Inspired by the grandeur of real-world airports like the Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Munich Airport, this airport brings a touch of realism to the Minecraft universe. The map offers a sprawling layout reminiscent of its real-life counterparts, complete with detailed terminals, runways, and aviation infrastructure. Therefore, Pankow International Airport provides an immersive experience that captures the essence of modern air travel. A moving walkway could be a great addition to a courtyard, airport, or even a mansion. It's very unique and simple to do! If you end up incorporating this tutorial into one of your designs/builds, be sure to post it to the community corkboard for all to see!
This past workshop went really well, and because we finished early, we ended up doing a 2-in-1 tutorial! We went over not only how to create a moving walkway, but also a moving furniture technique! You can check that tutorial out here if you missed out.
At the front of your walkway, begin to add walls. You only need to add a few blocks for this step; each block will only be one tall. This step is to just get an idea of which way the pistons will be pushing, which will help for the next step.
Add redstone torches directly behind the block that each pressure plate is on. For this setup, on the right side, your redstone torches will be facing towards the back of your walkway. On the left side of the walkway, the redstone torches will be facing to the right.
On each side, place a block directly behind each wall block you just placed in Step 5. You can use any material you want for this step, as we will later remove these blocks. It helps to imagine the sticky pistons placed on the furthest blocks (facing towards the pressure plates).
