This smells to me like it's a pirated copy--and I'm a Nintendo fan who will only deal with things that are legit. Am I right in that suspicion? Or is a region-free version of a Wii game a legit thing somehow?
There are no "region free" Wii games that I know of, so this must be a fake or an NTSC copy. Fakes shouldn't work with your Wii unless it has been hacked anyway. Can you share a link to the product page for the item you have purchased?
You should have exercised caution before giving this person your money. A simple warning sign is to avoid any sellers who only use stock images, and do not post their own photographs of their items. With almost every phone nowadays having a built-in camera, it's not as if this is a difficult feat.
What's odd is that there are MULTIPLE sellers that seem to be using the same text.
Even listing that say "Fulfillment by amazon". I'm not 100% sure what the "fulfillment" listings, but doesn't that mean amazon itself handles processing the order, and thus should be responsible for verifying it matches the listing (which implies of course being a legit product)?
Amazon seller here. I see this is an old thread but I'm trying to get the word out about these games. There is no such thing as a region free world edition. They are legit products made for sale in the Middle East and Asia. They are cheaper so big Amazon sellers are importing them so they can sell them cheap and still make a profit Here's the problem: they have no resale value at GameStop and other stores, and there value as collectibles is questionable.
So what should you do? If you just want to own the game at the cheapest price possible, go ahead and buy them. They play in English and work just fine. If you plan to resell it or trade it in or keep it as a collectible then don't buy it.
Many Amazon sellers have complained to Amazon about people selling these on the same page as the US version, but until more customers start complaining to Amazon or leaving negative feedback for the sellers the bait and switch will continue.
Hello all! I picked up the Eye of the World in 90 or 91 and the series is still one of my top 3 series I've ever read. I just started another re-read to be up to date when the show drops. I have my copy from the 90's, but I also checked out the e-book from my library and what to my wondering eyes appeared but a WHOLE NEW CHAPTER from Egwene's POV. My question is how many of these "new" pieces have been added, when and in what versions, and by whom were they written? Brandon or Jordan? I'm really enjoying the addition and don't want to miss out by reading my originals paperbacks, most are the first releases bought as they came out. Thanks to all in advance!
Iirc, tEotW was republished in two parts, From the Two Rivers and To the Blight, to make it more accessible to younger readers, way back in 2002. When they did so, they added in that Egwene chapter, which was written by Jordan, but edited out of the original edition, as it both undermines the mystery of which of the boys is the Dragon Reborn (since Egwene is focused on Rand in that chapter), and it bulks up the length of the first book. When it was split, there was room for its inclusion and enough time had passed and the books popular enough that maintaining that mystery, which was always a fairly weak mystery to begin with, was less important. I don't think that's happened anywhere else, though there are some "deleted scenes" from A Memory of Light, one of which deals with Perrin and a raid on Caemlyn's Waygate, and the other which documents Demandred's adventures in Shara, both of which, of course, were written by Brandon.
