AS SALAAMU ALAIKUM:
My Dear Imam;
First let me introduce myself. I am probably best described as an
esoteric Christian who has come to see the beauty and wisdom of the
Islamic faith. I, and people like me, are best described in the Holy
Qur'an in Sura V, verses 85-88. I had a private conversation with the
Honorable W. D. Mohammed in the last week of March, 2008, in a hotel in
Atlanta. The conversation was not a superficial one, but rather dealt
with some of the weightiest issues facing both of our religions; and
our nation; i.e., the corruption of the Bible by the Emperor
Constantine, the real meaning of the term "jihad", who Jesus really
was, the possible corruption of the Islamic faith by extremists, the
plight and uphill struggle of the black man in America, and the fact
that the African-American may turn out, in G_d's plan,to be the best
example of his human creation yet. ("The last shall be first") It was a
most memorable talk which I will always cherish. He even asked me to
draw up goals and plans for his next 5 years of leadership and the
legacy he would leave after he was gone....
