Hi,
I installed deeptools with conda install -c bioconda deeptools
The installation process seemed ok without any problem. But when I try to use any command, the error appears as follow,

ImportError: /home/jingchen/.local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/numpy/random/mtrand.so: undefined symbol: PyFPE_jbuf

Anyone knows what the problem is and how to fix it? Thank you.

Seems to me like a problem with different versions of numpy. Where did you install anaconda? deeptools should only access the numpy within the anaconda folder.

Do you see anything if you type:

echo $PYTHONPATH

This problem is not directly related to deeptools but to your installation of anaconda which is using the wrong numpy libraries.

How did you install anaconda?

I downloaded the .sh file and followed the instruction as follow
bash Anaconda2-2.4.1-Linux-x86_64.sh

And it did not give me any trouble.

Thank you, Fidel. Problem solved. I have a newer version of numpy installed before I install anaconda2. After I uninstall the newer version. deeptools worked normally.
