Hi,

I am using Deepin v20 for last few days. It's good looking and easy to use. I am using it in dual boot with Windows 10 under Huawei Matebook D15 laptop.

Unfortunately my fingerprint is not working. Here is my lsusb output:

---
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 1358:c123
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 13d3:56f9 IMC Networks
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 27c6:5110  Shenzen Goodix Inc.
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05e3:0610 Genesys Logic, Inc. 4-port hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
---

The one in bold is my fingerprint reader.

How to enable it under Deepin v20? Any suggestion/help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Deepin v20 supports Fingerprint, it's written in the official website - https://www.deepin.org/en/2020/09/11/deepin-20-innovation-is-ongoing/
problem is with fingerprint driver, If it's supported under Linux then it will work.

So I want to know if Goodix fingerprint has support in Linux or not?

https://askubuntu.com/questions/1239582/xps-13-9300-fingerprint-reader-any-driver-updates

  • install the latest Linux kernel 5.8 (most likely not necessary, but above 5.6.1 is advisable)
  • download the .deb
  • install it with sudo dpkg -i libfprint-2-tod1-goodix_0.0.4-0ubuntu1somerville1_amd64.deb
  • reboot the system

This was the device installed in my XPS. Looks like it has the same ID as yours so you may be in luck.
