Recently I have been receiving 6-digit confirmation codes texted to my phone from Norton on a daily basis, occurring multiple times a day. When this occurs, I am either home or work, if I am at work, my computer is shut down. When I am home, I am checking my system, and no requests are sent. I read somewhere that it may have to do with a recent update from Microsoft however, I want to confirm that. I want to know if this is an issue created by Microsoft or do I have to be concerned that someone is attempting to hack my Norton account. I've run the antivirus scans, I don't download apps, games or anything of that nature on my system. All software I have come from verified companies.

I have noticed in the past when Microsoft updates they system, they tend to attack Norton Virus, even shutting down my Norton VPN, shutting down my firewall or resetting certain defaults that I created.

Hello Cruz. Check your Norton account for the following authentication methods being enabled. Specifically, do you have the Mobile authenticator app installed on your mobile device? What is your OS, its version and build?

First, log into your Norton Account and be sure that you do not have Automatic Renewal set up for your current subscription. Then at or very near expiry of your current subscription, open the classic Norton interface by right clicking on the Norton icon in the system tray, then click on Open Norton 360. Click on Help > Enter Product Key at the bottom right. Then follow the prompts to enter the new key you purchased.

Hi,
I'm looking to renew a Norton 360 subscription by entering a product key. I have done the following: Open Norton 360. Click on Help > Enter Product Key at the bottom right. Then follow the prompts to enter the new key purchased.

When I get there, I'm asked to sign in (to my existing account) and when I've done that, I arrive at my dashboard. I can see nothing telling me what the missing additional information is. My account details already have name, address, telephone number and my repeat billing details are already entered.

Thanks for your reply. In the end, I had to use Norton Support chat. I didn't get an explanation for my problem but the helpful support guy extended my current subscription by 12 months, which amounts to the same thing as my product code being accepted. Thanks again for you interest.

Hi bjm_,

I have tried to update my credit card information, but keep getting an error "We are unable to process your order from the information provided. Please re-enter your payment information or try another payment method.". I've tried to contact support, but after the convoluted series of clicks to actually launch a chat or call for support there is a button to click that should provide a 10 digit code to start support. The button doesn't work. I've tried Edge & Chrome on my laptop and Safari on my iPhone. I've checked cookie settings and those are set correctly. I've tried incognito. This seems to be a site issue on Norton's end and not on mine. There are no other corporate numbers to call on their website. There seems to be no way to actually contact them for support, which is troubling. Can anyone help me out with how to actually speak to someone in support at Norton? I'd sure appreciate it.

Norton Community does not have access to your Norton account, subscription nor payment details.
Please Contact Norton Support regarding your Norton account/subscription/payment/refund.

Please see your Norton account to manage licenses/subscriptions.

Still very odd that is required to simply get a chat popup to show. Thank-you, I have, after hours of frustration trying to contact Norton in any way possible, am in a queue waiting to chat with someone.

I'm using Microsoft Phone Link to access messages and notifications from my Android 11 phone. Recently I got a popup with a QR code that indicated that I should scan the code with my phone to restore the connection.

I've changed my Internet provider's modem to use the Norton DNS so I suspect that there is a certain amount of protection there but was curious about localized protection for when my phone is not connected to the wifi at home.

I don't recall exactly when I made the DNS change but it was some time last year. I don't even recall where I found them but it was on the Norton site. The IP addresses I used for DNS are 199.85.126.10, 199.85.127.10.

Interesting that those DNS settings still work. Those settings were for the Norton ConnectSafe service which was discontinued in 2018. see this Norton support article. When I get some time I will try them myself.

WhatismyIPaddress shows the owners as NortonLifelock Inc. As Richard is using them, they do seem to provide DNS services. But as I have not seen any information since the Norton ConnectSafe EOL, I would not trust those IP settings to provide any web filtering protection.
