A release candidate of DeepaMehta 3 v0.4.1 is available for download:

Since the last v0.4.1 snapshot release (Sep. 9) there are no new features.
The todays release candidate is all about migration.
That is, the user can (for the first time!) keep his DB content when updating from DM v0.4 to v0.4.1.

When testing shows no problems, the final DM v0.4.1 version will be released the next days.

To test the migration feature:
1) stop your DM 0.4 installation (as usual by exit Felix).
2) unpack the release candidate to another location.
3) replace its "deepamehta-db" folder with a copy of your existing (v0.4) one.
4) start the release candidate as usual (use the provided starter script).
Look for possible exceptions in the console. Please do report them.
5) IMPORTANT: stop the release candidate and start it again (sorry).
6) Now your installation should be updated properly.
Start the client as usual: http://localhost:8080/de.deepamehta.3-client/index.html
All your content should be available as before.
Please report any strange behavoir.

IMPORTANT:
=> You can only update an existing DM v0.4 installation.
Updating a snapshot release (with a timestamp in the zip file) is not supported.
=> Keep your v0.4 DB at a safe place. You'll need it
a) when updating to final DM v0.4.1 (in next days), and
b) as a backup when something went wrong while migration.
=> Until release of final DM v0.4.1 continue to enter real data in your DM v0.4 installation.

The main features of DM v0.4.1 related to v0.4 are
1) File management facility. File content viewer.
2) "Folder Canvas" plugin (optional installation).
These features are explained in the recent postings.
