Deepa Health Farm, Pura Vida
We made it back safely from our last Medical Spanish class, and it was
so much fun we decided to do it again. This time we hope to have even
more students to enjoy this wonderful environment and opportunity.
Please pass this information on to your contacts, you never know who
might need CEU's. Also make a note to yourself, Can you come check
out the property during these dates? The hot springs resort is about
30 minutes from the farm, and we could easily take you there and let
you check it out! You can take a room with us at the hot springs and
just not take the class :)
Another important date is June 26 to July 2, 2010. We will be hosting
a Therapeutic Tranquil Tropical Psoriasis Retreat. This event will be
three nights at the hot springs and three nights in an Amazing private
villa just above Playa Coco. Again, guests are invited as well
( however the rooms in the villa are not cheap) Deepa has organized an
amazing series of treatments and activities all aimed at decreasing
pain and anxiety of Psoriasis, while examining lifestyle and learning
new self treatments from multiple medical modalities. Deepa will post
the details here, but also much more information about both classes
are available at deepahealth.com. Again, please pass this information
on to your contacts. All these workshops and retreats are to generate
income and interest in the farm, will one day be held on the farm, for
us all to enjoy :)
As far as the farm goes, someone stole a bunch of our water pipes :(
The dry season is even visible in the mountain, with less running
water in the creeks and springs -- but there is still plenty for us
and to nourish the three villages down the mountain from our farm, who
get their water from our farm. The road work remains on hold, but we
were able to drive up pretty far this time without a 4x4 ( read, the
dry season.) The avacado pit Carla planted on her visit in November
2008 has become quite a tree, and is now almost 4 feet high! The
garden is full of Yucca, and some parts of the gate need repairing.
We went to three hardware stores( three different towns), none of
which had the correct bolt for the job.
We are also working with a few of Deepa's co worker health care
providers to organize some fund raising events for the Valle Verde
School. So far all there is for the school is the flat pad in the
dirt. Our group offered to do some fundraising to help build the
walls. We are looking at several options, and are interested in any
organizing help you have to offer. Of course the fund raising does
not have to be limited to the Santa Cruz area,... Anyone is welcome
to have a BBQ fundraiser to help the kids. We will keep you posted on
this area, as publicity is such a big part of this type of event.
