Hola!
We continue to work diligently on the formation of the off the grid eco village in North West Costa Rica. We still have room for volunteers and investors, call Deepa at 831-234-5791 for more information. Here is the latest news and information:
We have been granted another extension on the final payment, and are very grateful for that. We have come up with some creative fund raising ideas, and wanted to share the information with the entire group. We can use your help and ideas too!
We are speaking with an accountant and setting up a raffle to raffle off one lot in the eco village. The tickets look like they will be 100 dollars each, but the accountant has to do some more analysis before everything is finalized. If anyone would like to donate smaller prizes towards the raffle that would be great, anything of a service or material nature would work -- we could use haircuts, massages, handy man and gardening, art work, wine, disc golf gear, ... Please let Neal or Deepa know if you want to donate ( remember replying to this email will go to the entire group)
We have someone working on the web site for the community now, and hopefully the raffle portion will be included. We also hope to have a pay pal donation link off each page. This is a large undertaking, and we will be doing it a bit at a time
We are also discussing with the accountant the possibility of selling sponsorships of a square meter of pristine rain forest :) Neal wants to sit in front of Whole Foods in Monterrey with a table and seek donations and sell sponsorships and raffle tickets. we can also market these on line and via our network of friends
Deepa called and spoke to the land owner on the phone for quite some time last week. It was a great phone call, and both are looking forward to more conversations.
We have also been talking with some local and National musicians about the possibility of a benefit concert, looking at multiple locations, etc. This would take more up front time that we have now, but would be a blast to do in Costa Rica. Hog Farm South?
Neal and Deepa plan to be in Costa Rica late October and early November. Does anyone want to come out and see the land, let us know. If we are not there we can certainly make arrangements for you to see the farm ( finca)
Earlier this month Deepa submitted all the paperwork to get her Continuing Education Provider Number from the California Board of Registered Nurses. This will allow Deepa to teach classes and give contact hours of continuing education that will be accepted by Nurses, Acupuncturists, Physical Therapists and more! The next class is set for January, and it looks like it will be a combination class of Medical Spanish for 16 contact hours and Acupressure for Acute Care for 20 contact hours. The dates are one of the last two weeks of January, we are still setting the date with the Hotel.
Neal is currently in the San Juan Bautista, Northern California area. Deepa is working in an Emergency Room in Hollister, and just starting to do Healing Treatments across the street from Mission San Juan Bautista. If you want a Lotus Hands Therapeutic Touch session, an Acupuncture Session or a Medical Qi Gong session ( or a combination session) give Deepa a call -- 831-234-5791

Hi Deepa & neal.............I am so amazed at your perseverence and tireless effort, you are doing some very admirable work, dear amigos. I would love to help in any way I can and will speak to people about your raffle idea. I am just arriving at omega institute for a week, to do a dance workshop. Its such a splurge, but Im staying with friends.... my life is still crazy with my passport, and now my money is tied up with Grace realty and not accessible. So Im just praying for the highest good and trying to be in a state of gratitude about the good things I have at the moment. I may call you too. Ill be returning on Sept. 11.
