Hi Friends, 

It is the first of the month and time to pay salaries to most important members of our household eco-system : maids/drivers/etc.. 

With the demonitization drive, the most affected are these people . If they are affected , we are affected too ( assuming lining up in banks may lead to absenteeism ) .

A small way I chose to help was order groceries for my maid on bigbasket . I asked her for the list of groceries required for the month , listed out the pricing to her on bigbasket. Only when she was convinced that the pricing is cheaper than her grocer , I ordered for the items and paid through my card . This amount I deducted from her salary . Apart from this , I paid her 2000 in cash and rest of salary as bank transfer . 

Also , please go through this link on how to transfer money on gsm phones/non-smart phone. Please spare 2 minutes to read this and also teach them on how to operate . The first thing being generating an mPIN for mobile banking . 

Ask them for their bank account numbers , and try transferring salary into them . Take them to the ATM if possible to show how to withdraw cash using ATM PIN .

I am sure if each one of us try to do our bit , it will not be difficult for them to scale through this testing period easily and the initiative will also achieve financial inclusion .
