What's going on in Deep Ellum

Hi everyone,
My name is Christine and I am a student at Southern Methodist
University. For my final in my TV News Production class I am doing a
news package on what's goin gon in Deep Ellum: the construction, the
new plans, the old culture, the buildings, the taxing, the
organization involved in all these processes and how it affects the
people living there and the people who enjoy life there. I am looking
to do interviews with a number of organizations including The Deep
Ellum Association, The Deep Ellum Foundation, Deep Ellum Enrichment
Project, DART, and construction teams working down there as well as
residents and property owners of Deep Ellum. I will be filming this

I am very interested in what you come up with. I too am interested in
the "plans" for Deep Ellum. Everyone has ideas, some even on paper,
but as someone else wrote on another site, best to "follow the
dollar". Big land developers with big dollars will certainly
determine the "going on" in Deep Ellum. I was told in a recent City
Planning Commission Meeting that the only real voices are the property
owners, not the business owners or tenants. Stay in touch.
