It is still sdfsnas-prod-1.1.1 (not 1.1.2) when I try to download the
appliance via the webpage link.

Sam:

I had the previous appliance working fine. This one I've had no luck
getting the web interface to come up. The port(via telnet) does not
appear to be open. 80 or 443. I can ping the system's IP fine. The
only thing i've done different between this time and the previous
appliance was I was not able to use the last OVF in esx4.1 u2. It
said it was corrupt. I ended up copying the vmdk's up to the server
and using vmkfsutil to convert them. This time the ovf worked fine.
I've tried removing and re-adding the nic's. They get an IP fine and
manual assignment works as well, as you could probably deduce from the
ping working.

What is the command to start the web interface?

Thanks!
Paul

Paul,

The service is /etc/init.d/sdfs_viewer. You can also send me the log from /var/log/sdfs/sdfs_viewer.log if you continue to have issues.

"FATAL sdfs-viewer - could not find hostname - exiting

java.net.UnknownHostException: sdfsnas1: sdfsnas1: Name or service not
known"

I tried with no modifications utilizing DHCP, with static, by putting
the dns server in resolve.conf and specifying 'sdfsnas1's lan ip in /
etc/hosts.

I encountered the same error.....after trying a few unsuccessful
things....I commented out the following line in the /etc/hosts file:

#127.0.1.1 sdfsnas

And then it worked.......

Found it. etc/hosts says sdfsnas, etc/hostname says sdfsnas1

Changed hosts and it works.
