Troubles Installing

Brand new computer, most updated windows, I downloaded the most recent version and when trying to open a spreadsheet the console reads "Error: could not find function "readworksheet"". Anyone knows what the problem is?

Try running

install.packages(“lawstat”, “Hmisc”, “XLConnect”)

In the console.

Unfortunately did not work. Just read: 

Lib=“hmic” is not writable and error in install.packages and unable to install packages...

Ugg, sorry. That should have been

install.packages(c(“lawstat”, “Hmisc”, “XLConnect”))
