Hi All,

I regularly teach R programming using RStudio because its installation is very error free compared to JGR's. I would like to teach Deducer's frequencies and descriptive.table functions, but when I load Deducer in RStudio it generates error messages since RStuio does not support winMenuAddItem. Is there a way to load Deducer's functions and not it's GUI?

Thanks,
Bob

Deducer should load fine from the command line if winMenuAdd does not exist, otherwise it assumes that it is in the windows GUI and ads menu items accordingly. I was unaware that R-Studio defined winMenuAdd, but not winMenuAddItem. Anyhow you can alway load Deducer with no gui functionality, which can be useful for reproducing your analyses outside the Deducer GUI.

options(DeducerNoGui=TRUE)
library(Deducer)

For general reference of anyone finding this thread, I have found that capitalization is important. I need to run:
options(DeducerNoGUI=TRUE)
to not have the errors. Note that GUI is all capitals. With "DeducerNoGui", I still have the errors.
