Hi there,

I'm getting an error when I try installing Reducer. It seems than JGR
package is missing in official repos... apparently not due to system
incompatibility, but rather to version of R... But I'm running R
version 2.9.2, which is default in Ubuntu repositories, and not
version 2.10.0

When I try starting Deducer, I get this message:

> require(Deducer)
Loading required package: Deducer
Warning message:
In library(package, lib.loc = lib.loc, character.only = TRUE,
logical.return = TRUE, :
there is no package called 'Deducer'

or this one (completely redundant info, but, hey, who knows...):

> library(Deducer)
Error in library(Deducer) : there is no package called 'Deducer'

Any suggestions?! I reckon that this is the one of those sit-and-wait
problems? Right?!?

The latest version of JGR (1.7) requires R 2.10.0 due to the new
dynamic help system. I'll be updating Deducer to run with this very
soon, so you will need to upgrade. Everything should be sorted out in
a week or two. In the mean time, after you have upgraded, you can
install from the development repository using:

install.packages(c("rJava","JGR","Deducer"),,"http://www.rforge.net",type="source")

Hi there,

me again. I've installed newest R (2.10.0), and managed to install
rJava, JGR and Deducer packages. However, during the install process
I've bumped into several errors... installation process exited with
non-zero status... Something went wrong, it's probably a Java-based
problem.
Any suggestions?!

Can you get JGR to work correctly? if not, follow the direction at:
http://jgr.markushelbig.org/JGR_on_Linux.html .
If you are able to load JGR, but not Deducer, send along the related R
output as well as the result of sessionInfo().
