Hello Dede,
I came across your website while searching for a recipe. Can you please share with me a recipe for arabic oregano onion bread.... Zaatar Kateef..... I think that's what the name of it is. Recently, I tried to make this (by guessing) and the dough wasn't right. To be honest with you, nothing was right. The oregano leaves seemed to burn or get extra crispy. This left me perplexed and wondering... Are you suppose to put the oregano leaves in the skillet with the onions after you saute them and cook a few minutes together? Please help, I can't seem to get this right!

Thanks so much,
Denise

Hi Denise,

Check out my manaeesh video, I use zaatar to make the pies and you can
also order the zaatar on my website. I don't recall ever seeing them
prepared with onions but it does sound interesting. You should
carmelize the onions in butter first until they are slightly brown,
roll out the dough, sprinkle with the zaatar then the onions and cook
in the oven. Try it and let me know how it turns out :)

HAPPY COOKING!
