Hello there,

My name is Oliver, and I am an undergrad student doing some research in simulations of RBC. The scripts for running the simulations were previously written using Dedalus v2, but newer supercomputers have been struggling to match compatibility (Compute Canada's most recent upgrades have broke the scripts). Due to this, I have been switching the code over to v3, and have had some successes and some failures. I have been able to get the code running and saving the state of the system, but saving different tasks for analysis has not been working properly.

I have attached the original Python script with all of the quantities that were being saved and the new Python script (with the parts I have unsuccessfully tried to make work commented out), and I was hoping someone would be able to give me a hand in identifying issues. As well, mentioning anything to be cautious of when switching versions, or general tips and feedback for the code would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much in advance. Best,
Oliver

Hi Oliver,

If you can tell us in greater detail how the different analysis tasks do not work, we might have some ideas on what is going wrong. What is the analysis task that fails? At what stage does it fail?

Daniel
