Hi everyone,

First, thank you for the work you did to create Dedalus.
I began to use Dedalus by looking at the notebooks and on the examples.
I would like to reproduce the code developed in the following article : https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2012A%26A...547A..75O/abstract in the case without centrifugal deformation.
They are using a Newton-like method and transforming the system into an eigenvalue problem by a radial discretization.
My issue is by looking at other conversations, I discovered one about inertial modes where : "It seems you’ve bumped up against our development threshold. I.e., the Coriolis terms couple spherical harmonic degree. While we have theses kinds of couplings implemented in the spherical shell, alas they are not yet working in the full ball." (source : https://groups.google.com/g/dedalus-users/c/L5Cwd492hfU/m/2m4pb6xPAAAJ ).
So If I'm not mistaken, my problem is not solvable by Dedalus ?
Thank you for your help. :)

Hi Antoine,

Yes, currently implicit-Coriolis for the full ball is still work-in-progress.

Best,

Hi Keaton,

I was wondering whether there are any updates on implicit Coriolis in full ball?

Sorry if I missed this in the group discussions.

Thank you,

Semih

Hi Semih,

Unfortunately this is still not implemented for the ball, only for the spherical shell.

Best,
-Keaton
