This Discussion site is intended to complement the DECO2205 Web site
at:
http://web.arch.usyd.edu.au/~paul

If you have not visited the Web site please do, and select:
"DECO2205 Principles of ArchiCAD"
Read through the information as soon as possible and later, refer to
it often.

If you have never participated in on-line learning before make sure
that you also read the link just above it, called
"- learning on-line- learning -"

DECO2205 is known as an on-line unit of study. On-line learning is
convenient for most students, but it requires active input from the
learner. The purpose of this Google Group, is to augment your
learning, by enabling every participant to communicate with every
other at any time.

Post your technical (non personal) queries here. I will try to review
and respond daily, during semester, but if you see a query that you
can answer please do so. Don't wait for me. Active input requires more
commitment from you, but regular involvement by all participants
promotes the learning of skills that will be of long term benefit to
both giver and receiver.

CAD technology continues developing rapidly. The big developers, such
as Graphisoft and AutoDesk, bring out new versions every year. To keep
up with the changes, users need to know how to learn from the
information made available by the designers, mostly on-line.

This unit will not only acquaint you with ArchiCAD, it will bring you
into the Graphisoft environment and enable you to help yourself to the
extensive resources that Graphisoft have provided for ArchiCAD users..

Of course, what happens next is up to you. My hope is that you will
explore ArchiCAD with enthusiasm and share your experiences throughout
the semester.

Use the following link to explore the kinds of queries that have been
posted and answered in the past:
http://groups.google.com/group/deco2205_2008

Finally, note that this is not a private web-site. Personal
communications, such as reports of illnesses and accidents, should be
e-mailed directly to me (see "From:" above) unless you want to inform
the world .

Best wishes
Paul
