Dear colleagues,
I
would greatly appreciate your help in making our program known to
students in your department who may be interested in pursuing a highly
demanding and rewarding doctoral program in interdisciplinary research
on decision-making.
Are
you passionate about understanding how people and machines make
decisions? Do you want to bridge the gap between computer science,
economics, neuroscience and psychology?
The University of Melbourne's Doctoral Program in Decision, Risk and Financial Sciences offers an unparalleled opportunity to conduct interdisciplinary research at one of the world's leading universities.
Our
program stands apart as Australia's only doctoral program specifically
designed to train the next generation of researchers in decision
neuroscience and experimental finance. You'll join the Centre for Brain, Mind and Markets,
where leading researchers from different disciplines collaborate to
tackle fundamental questions about human and machine decision-making.
What makes us different:
Truly interdisciplinary approach– Coursework and research drawing on expertise from computer science, economics, psychology, neuroscience and statistics.
World-class facilities– Located in Melbourne, co-located with the Parkville Medical Precinct, one of the world's largest biomedical research precincts
Comprehensive training– Two-year rigorous interdisciplinary coursework followed by three to four years of doctoral research
Our graduates
Recent
graduates of our program have obtained positions at universities
including Carnegie Mellon University, University of Melbourne and
Stanford University as well as in industry.
Your Research Journey
