Dear colleagues,

Formal Networks are important for strengthening relationships among different organisations (private-public, regional-national-international), for developing new partnerships and for sharing information and knowledge. They act as an interface between knowledge and action. Networks will only achieve good results if they are managed in a committed and professional way.

Thereby, networking practitioners should be able to plan activities in complex systems; to work within a governance structure when members are geographically dispersed; and to promote effective communication mechanisms that will allow culturally diverse organisations to effectively share information and knowledge.

In order to contribute to the professionalization of network managers, SKAT and sba designed an E-learning Network Management Course geared to respond to the challenges confronted by formal networks. The course will be based on concepts and methods of network and knowledge management.  Different theoretical and practical e-learning tools will be used to achieve this goal.

The course will start on January 19 and will last until the 29 of March 2009. It is designed for a group of approximately 25 participants. As a selection process will take place, candidates are requested to fill out a registration form and send it including an updated CV and a motivation letter by 29 of October 2008.
